The Gargoyle... by, LGED

Daylight fades and darkness fills the skies,
He looks over the castle with watchful eyes.
Gigantic wings both long and wide,
Extending from either side.
Glides through the air like a hawk with its prey,
He sleeps in stone throughout the day.
Seen as evil and feared by most,
they get scares as if they've seen a ghost.
Monstrous claws and razor sharp teeth,
at his hip trusty sword in sheath.
Perched upon the castle tower,
Protecting all in the nighttime hour.
Morning comes the day begins,
He becomes a statue yet again.
Reptilian body turns to stone,
He sleeps above all alone.
When Luna's light finally arrives,
the stone will break and he'll be alive.
